When my Dad traveled from his home town in Syria to Bournemouth, UK to learn English, he LOVED this show. I feel as though had it been released today, there will be certain people who would have found this racist. My Dad thought otherwise. He didn’t find it racist nor was he offended in any way.
You might say, “Well, maybe it’s because there wasn’t a Syrian on the show.”
Maybe so. But my Dad empathized with a lot of the characters, as he was also struggling with learning a new language and fitting in with other cultures. Which is what made this so entertaining for him.
Sadly, it’s hard to find a show like this, nowadays. In 2016 it would be labelled hate-speech and banned, perhaps.
I’m not sure if I wanna finish editing this trailer or not.
Being a final year media student, I kinda got my hands full on other projects. But I heard the Batman v Superman trailer music recently and just had to play around with it. I woke up this morning telling myself I have to make a Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith trailer collab with that soundtrack.
The trailer is unfinished and unlisted, so this link is the only public one. I had my fun with it, so you can too. :)
